Theme Parks Extend Gratitude to First Responders in Southern California
Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood are honoring the tireless efforts of firefighters and first responders by offering complimentary tickets, serving as a heartfelt gesture of thanks for their bravery in battling the recent wildfires.
Universal Studios Hollywood’s Offer of Appreciation
Universal Studios Hollywood unveiled their “First Responder Heroes Ticket Offer” on January 31, showcasing their appreciation for those who have risked their lives to protect the community.
First responders, who have shown remarkable resolve during this challenging time, can claim a complimentary general admission ticket, alongside a generous 50% discount on up to three extra tickets. This offer is valid through April 10, 2025, according to the park’s website.
Eligible individuals hail from U.S.-based agencies, both public and private, encompassing paramedics, firefighters, police officers, sheriff’s deputies, and National Guard members. Universal Studios Hollywood emphasizes the extraordinary commitment exhibited by these heroes amid adversity. “We express our profound gratitude for their courage,” Scott Strobl, the park’s executive vice president, remarked in a recent statement.
“When they seek a well-deserved respite, we eagerly await their arrival,” Strobl added. In order to collect tickets, first responders must present valid identification—both a government-issued photo ID and an employee ID showcasing their qualifying role.
Disneyland’s Tribute Through the ‘Heroes Ticket’
On February 7, Disneyland joined in this commendable effort, launching the “Heroes Ticket,” which provides two free one-day park hopper tickets. These tickets grant access to both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
Ken Potrock, president of Disneyland Resort, expressed heartfelt admiration for the first responders: “Their dedication is boundless, and our gratitude for their service is immeasurable.” This sentiment speaks volumes about the community’s acknowledgment of their sacrifices.
The “Heroes Ticket” extends eligibility to California firefighters and Los Angeles-based law enforcement personnel who played vital roles in the firefighting efforts. Additionally, those who contributed through mutual aid assistance from other departments are included. The tickets will be valid from Monday through Thursday, running from May 5 through August 7, 2025, necessitating prior theme park reservations.
As an additional layer of support, Disneyland plans to disseminate details to eligible departments, providing clarity on accessing these tokens of gratitude.
