Unexpected Visitor: Alligator Spotted Lounging on Little Hickory Beach in Bonita Springs!

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla — Alligator spotted on Little Hickory Beach has turned an ordinary day into a moment of wild curiosity.

This captivating video was sent to us by local resident Kim Biagetti, who captured this unusual scene.

Gator on Little Hickory Beach in Bonita Springs

On Thursday, as sunbathers enjoyed the warm sands, a sighting of the alligator caused a buzz. Someone spotted the reptile lounging on the shore and promptly contacted alligator trappers to come to the rescue—or rather, the relocation.

Biagetti recalls the tension in the air as the trappers made several attempts to catch the massive creature. After a number of tries that seemed endless, the 8-foot 2-inch alligator was finally captured, to the relief of nearby beachgoers.

A trapper mentioned that the gator would be taken to a nearby alligator farm, offering a chance for this curious creature to thrive in a safe environment away from human activity. It’s a reminder that even in a beach town known for its picturesque sunsets and serene landscapes, nature still has its surprises.

Interestingly, alligators can hold their breath underwater for up to two hours. It’s a fact that highlights their adaptability and resourcefulness, contrasting sharply with the leisurely beach lifestyle that most visitors experience.
