Disney World Visitors Outraged: New Water Ride Leaves Everyone Dripping Wet!

Disney World Visitors Outraged: New Water Ride Leaves Everyone Dripping Wet!

Disney World parkgoers are expressing their feelings about the new water ride, voicing concerns that they are getting “absolutely soaked.”

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened this summer at Magic Kingdom, just outside of Orlando, Florida, capturing the attention of visitors.

This attraction draws inspiration from the beloved 2009 film “The Princess and the Frog,” seamlessly fitting into the legacy left by the ride it replaced, Splash Mountain. As anticipation grew, so did the conversations on social media, sparking debates among fans eager to share their experiences.

On Reddit’s “Disneyland” forum, one user sought feedback, stating, “Please share your experience and reviews! And how does it compare to Splash Mountain?”

The excitement doesn’t just end at Disney World. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to debut at Disneyland Park’s Critter Country in Anaheim, California, on November 15.

However, many riders have commented on the unexpected amount of water they encountered during their journey. One enthusiastic visitor humorously remarked, “We were calling it Soak Mountain afterwards—we were drenched!”

Another participant shared their experience: “Great but very wet (I got drenched in all 3 drops). I heard that they’re still adjusting the water levels, so hopefully, they do it in a way where we don’t get a tidal wave at our faces.”

Similar sentiments echoed among the visitors, with one stating, “I have gotten absolutely soaked every single time, including in row 5.”

The shared experience of getting drenched became a recurring theme. One user recounted, “Got soaked beyond words, broke down both times I rode it and had to evacuate it.” Yet amidst the wet adventures, there were pockets of joy. Another rider shared, “This time I was soaked as a drenched rat, but everything was nice and fun. The animatronics moved smoothly, and made it enjoyable.”

As comparisons with the former attraction emerged, many offered reflective insights. One user observed, “That ever-present sense of impending danger in Splash is gone, so now it’s more like a fun, quick zip through the bayou at night, punctuated with a big drop at the end.” Another seemed less enthusiastic, saying, “I don’t know, it was good, but I feel like they could’ve done much better.”

Highlighting the positives, one avid Disney fan proclaimed, “Splash was ALWAYS one of my favorites, but the new effects/animatronics are AMAZING, and the lighting is gorgeous. It also fits right in with New Orleans Square.” This speaks to a fervent hope shared by many: that Tiana’s Adventure can carve out its own space within the rich tapestry of Disney rides.

Previously, Splash Mountain drew inspiration from the 1946 film “Song of the South.” However, this attraction faced criticism over its portrayal of African Americans and plantation life. One user noted that while Splash offered variation from room to room, “Splash just executed a ride story better than Tiana’s.”

Beyond Reddit, discussions spilled over to X, with users sharing their amusing preparations for the ride. “We came prepared since we heard you get drenched on this ride,” quipped one user. Another chimed in, “You definitely get very wet on this ride if you are in the 1st and 2nd rows. Our shoes got very wet even with ponchos on.” Visitors are indeed venturing into Tiana’s world, welcoming the adventure and, as it turns out, the splashes that come with it.
