Edison Winter Estates offers several VIP tours to other destinations in the country, including Ford Winter Estates.
The Botanical Gardens of Naples is open for tours on Saturday 13 November. This trip is available to Edison Ford members as also the public. VIP tours give visitors access to museums and gardens in other cities with others who are often similar-minded and allow them to share behind-the-scenes experiences not possible on their own. Includes bus transportation.
Here is a schedule for the VIP Tours:
November 13thLunch at Naples Botanical Gardens and Tin City Visit. Eco Boat Tour to Dollar Bay. The tour is outdoors and takes in the beauty of southwest Florida. In the morning the group gathers for breakfast at Edison Winter Estates. Then, they board the Dolphin Transportation bus for an hour-long private instructor-led tour. The property, which covers more than 170 ha and was established in 1993, is almost 10 times as large as Edison Ford. Ellin Goetz who is connected to the stands was involved in the masterplan for the gardens. About half of the garden will be used for habitat in southwest Florida.
Tin City will be the next stop. The Calusa Indians used this historical spot in the 16th Century. For industrialists and famous people like Harvey Firestone, Thomas Edison and Greta Garbo who wanted to be closer to the Gulf of Mexico, they built a 600-foot Pier in 1887. The area was transformed into a transportation and economic hub for Naples, thanks to the Seaboard Airline Railroad’s completion of its tin-roofed buildings. The market square today was constructed in 1970. The square currently hosts two waterfront restaurants and a river promenade. It also houses retail shops. You can have lunch in a place of your choice, and then shop at the over 20 shops. The group will then embark on a private Eco-Cruise of 2 hours aboard a Pure Florida boat. A naturalist will give an informative and fun talk about the eco-system and the mangrove forest. The boat trip may include dolphin sightings.
