Edison Winter Estates and Ford Winter Estates provide private tours for VIPs to various tourist locations throughout the year.

The Botanical Gardens of Naples is open for tours on Saturday 13 November. Both Edison Ford members as well as the general public are welcome to join this trip. VIP tours offer visitors the opportunity to visit other museums or gardens together with like-minded individuals and have unique behind-the scenes experiences they can’t get on their own. All tours include bus transport.

The schedule for the next VIP tour:

November 13thLunch at Naples Botanical Gardens and Tin City Visit. Eco Boat Tour to Dollar Bay. The tour is outdoors and takes in the beauty of southwest Florida. After a breakfast at Edison Winter Estates and Dolphin Transportation, the group departs on a 90 minute private tour led by an instructor. The property, which covers more than 170 ha and was established in 1993, is almost 10 times as large as Edison Ford. Ellin Goetz who is connected to the stands was involved in the masterplan for the gardens. About half of the garden will be used for habitat in Southwest Florida.

Tin City is the second stop of your tour. The Calusa Indians used this historical spot in the 16th Century. A 600-foot pier was constructed in the Gulf of Mexico to make it easier for celebrities like Greta Garbo, Harvey Firestone and Thomas Edison. The area was transformed into a transportation and economic hub for Naples, thanks to the Seaboard Airline Railroad’s completion of its tin-roofed buildings. The market square today was constructed in 1970. The square currently hosts two waterfront restaurants and a river promenade. It also houses retail shops. You can have lunch in a place of your choice, and then shop at the over 20 shops. After lunch the group will embark on a two-hour eco-cruise with a Pure Florida captain. The naturalist will provide an entertaining and educational talk about Florida’s ecosystem, including the world’s largest mangrove forests. During the boat ride, you may be able to see dolphins.

Dec 11:Visitors will visit the Historic Heritage Village of Largo and enjoy dinner at the shore. They’ll also be able to view the Florida Botanical Gardens Christmas lights.

15. JanuaryThe tour also includes a visit to the Historic Everglades Museum at Everglades City and lunch at the Smallwood Museum. There is also an opportunity for an aerial boat ride through the Everglades.

19th FebruaryThis private tour includes a visit to the Ringling Art Museum, Sarasota and lunch at the Ringling Grillroom. There is also a tour of that circus museum.

March 12thThe tour includes a visit to St. Petersburg’s Dali Museum and a demonstration of glass blowing at the Morean Art Center. Lunch is provided.
