Sarasota County Issues Crucial Hurricane Milton Update: What You Need to Know Now!

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla (WFTX) — Sarasota County continues to work diligently in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton. Officials express hope as crews tirelessly restore power and water to thousands of residents just three days after the storm impacted the area.

As of Saturday evening, 85,000 residents remain without power, reflecting a marked improvement from the peak of 295,000. It’s a bittersweet progress, underscoring both the resilience of the community and the challenges still faced by many.

Water access has been reestablished for the residents of Casey Key as of Saturday afternoon. However, they are currently under a precautionary boil water advisory.
