FORT MYERS FL (October 8, 2021 – Priority Marketing Director Marketing and Business Development Melissa Mitchell APR, CPRC was awarded the 40 Under 40 Award by Business Observer.
This annual program recognizes 40 individuals under 40 years old who are the brightest and most promising emerging talent along the Southwest Florida coast, between Tampa and Naples. They are entrepreneurs, not necessarily owners of their own companies.
Kat Hughes (Executive Editor, Business Observer) stated that “there are many publications which make similar lists every year.” “We wanted our list to stand out as a group of young professionals who aren’t afraid to take responsibility and take risks in their business. We believe these 40 individuals are business leaders who are willing to take risks and try new ideas.
Mitchell was a creative contributor to Priority Marketing’s Fort Myers office during her eight-year tenure. Her contributions have helped the company grow and remain at the top of its game. Priority Marketing has hired Mitchell to manage the execution of many strategic initiatives for both nonprofit and for-profit clients.
Prior to Priority Marketing’s inception, Mitchell had been a strong leader in the non-profit sector, having served as the development director for Pace Center for Girls Lee County and Island Coast AIDS Network. Through numerous charitable activities she is still active in the non-profit sector, such as her board membership of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce’s philanthropic foundation.
Mitchell won the Business Observer 40 Under 40 Award. Mitchell was also named an Alumni of Distinction at Florida Gulf Coast University. She is a 40 under 40 award winner by Gulfshore Business and a Power Woman Award Winner by Florida Weekly. Mitchell was also a finalist for the Greater Fort Myers Chamber’s APEX Award.
Mitchell is a Fort Myers native who earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration at Florida Gulf Coast University. Teri Hansen (APR), President and Senior Creative Director at Priority Marketing nominated Mitchell to the 40 Under 40 Award.
Hansen stated, “Melissa shows every day that her clientele, colleagues, and community are an asset she provides.” “Melissa is a hard worker and eagerly takes on any new task, professionally or personally. She finds creative solutions for every problem she encounters.”
Business Observer presented 40 awards to 40 individuals under 40 years of age at a ceremony held on October 7, 2017 at Lakewood Ranch.
