Alila Marea Beach Resort, located in Encinitas, will no longer be welcoming children on the property.
The luxurious Alila Marea Beach Resort, part of the World of Hyatt collection, recently made headlines with the announcement of its shift toward an adults-only policy.
“Please note that starting February 14, 2025, Alila Marea will welcome only guests aged 18 and over,” the statement revealed.
“This policy will allow us to curate a serene environment suited for adult travelers eager for relaxation, adventure, and peaceful moments by the beach,” the resort elaborated.
Situated mere steps from the soothing waves of Ponto Beach in San Diego County, the resort offers an inviting escape for adult visitors.
Besides its adults-only status, Alila Marea Beach Resort also accommodates pets, with select rooms specifically designated as “pet friendly.”
Notably, two sister properties of the resort, Alila Ventana in Big Sur and Alila Napa Valley in St. Helena, also maintain an adults-only atmosphere.
Industry expert Patillo explains, “As long as they are not discriminating against any specific protected classification, businesses are generally free to restrict children.”
“Millennials and GenZ are increasingly engaging in child-free experiences. If it aligns with their business model, this direction is reasonable,” he continued.
