CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A man working on an air conditioning unit at a Cape Coral home was hurt when he fell from an attic.

It happened in the garage of a home in the 1300-block of SE 21st Street. The owner of the home said the workers were at the house to check on a newly installed unit.

One worker was standing in the garage with the homeowner, Bob Torres, when the other employee fell through the ceiling and onto the concrete below.

“His partner was standing next to me over here,” Torres said. “Next thing you know you hear this cracking. The person that was up there came flying through the ceiling. Like boom, bang, landing right on his back.”

The man was knocked out for a few seconds from the fall. Torres called 911 and paramedics rushed the worker to the hospital.

He said the worker was in serious pain.

“He was in agony,” Torres said. “That’s a big fall landing on your back.”
