Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have parted ways after spending 16 years as a married couple.
On Thursday, amidst swirling rumors of separation, the actress took to her social media platforms to share her heartfelt announcement.
“I’ve been on a journey of self-realization and transformation for years – both as an individual and in partnership with Cash,” she expressed on Instagram. “I’m proud of how we’ve grown as a couple and in our marriage over the last 20 years, and it’s now time for us to start a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.”
“We are moving forward with love, kindness, and respect for each other and will forever be family,” she added. “Our children remain our highest priority, and we request privacy at this time.”
Jessica and Cash first crossed paths while filming the superhero flick “Fantastic Four” in 2004. They tied the knot in 2008 and are proud parents to three children: daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13, and son Hayes, 7.
Reflecting on their relationship, during an episode of the “Whine Down with Jana Kramer” podcast in 2023, Cash, who works as a film producer, disclosed that they underwent a brief separation four years into their love story.
“When we began dating, I was really jealous of other guys and the attention she received,” he revealed. “That feeling wasn’t making me feel good,” he added, describing a period when his confidence dipped significantly.
He went on to explain, “I hated feeling this way; it didn’t feel right. I realized I was turning into someone I didn’t want to be.” After their breakup, he committed to transforming those feelings into a more constructive outlet, hoping for a second chance.
In a candid interview in 2021, Jessica reflected on the complexities of marriage, saying, “It’s all rosy for 2 1/2 years. But then, you can easily start feeling like roommates.”
She elaborated, “You’re just going through the motions. With so many responsibilities, it becomes a lot of checking boxes.” Yet, all seemed not lost. In May 2024, Jessica took a moment to celebrate the couple’s 16th wedding anniversary with a touching tribute to Cash.
“16 years of marriage, 20 years together, and forever to go… Happy Anniversary Cash Warren,” she wrote, accompanied by a collection of cherished family photographs. “I’m proud of us for reaching this milestone. There are no guides for what it means to commit to another person and choose to be family. Through thick and thin, we have found our way back to each other time and again. Cheers to us; I love you.”
It’s a bittersweet reminder that relationships evolve. Sometimes they bring warmth and affection, while other moments can lead to introspection and transformation.
