Get Ready to Transform: Matterhorn Fit Launches in Fort Myers!

Matterhorn Fit Opens Its Doors in Fort Myers: A New Era in Fitness

Matterhorn Fit opens in Fort Myers, marking a significant milestone for the local fitness community. This unique franchise, founded by former FGCU athletes Margaret Berry and Spence Van Tiem, blends passion for physical movement with a vision for wellness and healthy aging. The duo, who excelled in soccer and hockey during their college years, sought to create an environment that nurtures both athletes and the broader community.

A Journey Rooted in Experience

They discovered Matterhorn Fit as college athletes, a place that transformed their training regimens and physical prowess. “My game really elevated to the next level,” Van Tiem reflected on his experience. “I was able to make gains I hadn’t previously made, and it translated both off the ice and on the ice as well.” Through their own journeys, they intimately understood the power of innovative training methods.

The Transformational Matterhorn Method

At the heart of Matterhorn Fit lies the Matterhorn Method, an approach developed by professional hockey players in nearby Bonita Springs. Van Tiem shared, “We have rehab on one side and personal training on the other, blending them into one cohesive method.” This unique fusion captures both rehabilitation and fitness in a comprehensive style, catering to a varied clientele aged from eight to 93. Berry commented, “Some of the exercises in here are things that you’ve never even seen before.”

Promoting Healthy Aging for All

Creating an open, inclusive community ties deeply into their mission. They believe in the importance of healthy aging, forging a path toward a pain-free lifestyle for everyone. “As we age, it’s vital to maintain our activity levels,” said Van Tiem. The duo hopes to provide a space where individuals can thrive physically, regardless of age or prior athletic experience. Engaging with clients from various backgrounds and fitness levels embraces the spirit of the Fort Myers community.

A Broader Impact

Berry aptly noted, “Athletics is obviously a large part of who we are, but the whole general population of Southwest Florida is also our clientele.” The duo’s vision is not merely about fitness; it’s about cultivating a vibrant community united by movement. It’s a place where laughter can coexist with hard work, where friendships are formed in the midst of sweat and determination.

In a world rapidly shifting towards sedentary lifestyles, Matterhorn Fit aims to be a beacon of health and wellness. This initiative not only contributes to individual fitness journeys but also fosters a collective culture of resilience and vitality in Fort Myers.

As they open their doors, they invite everyone to join in this transformative experience, rekindling the joy of movement and connection, one workout at a time.
