SWFL Siblings Launch Groundbreaking Pickleball World Cup!

SWFL siblings start the official Pickleball World Cup with a heartfelt vision. Hercilio and Miranda Cabieses, whose passion for pickleball ignited during their time in sunny southwest Florida, have made it their mission to showcase this exciting sport on a global stage. Their love for the game runs deep, and their recent efforts in Peru speak volumes about their commitment.

“I was stirring awake at 6 a.m., connecting with players in Europe, while at midnight I was engaged in conversations with fellow enthusiasts from Asia,” Hercilio shared, reflecting on the whirlwind of organizing an event that drew talent from over 30 nations, with more than 550 dedicated athletes stepping onto the courts.

The Cabieses siblings, guided by the principles of their Cabieses Foundation, took the initiative to introduce the intricacies of pickleball to Peru. The sport, which they stumbled upon while in Florida, became a bridge that connected them to their roots in Peru, creating opportunities for others to thrive. “Providing equipment is just the starting point; it opens doors for new friendships, experiences, and growth through the sport,” Hercilio explained.

Amid the fervor of competition and celebration, the Cabieses siblings remain grounded in their objectives. They aren’t simply advocates for pickleball; they embody the spirit of community-building. “While we cherish playing, our true joy comes from fostering a welcoming environment for our fellow enthusiasts,” Miranda noted, demonstrating their commitment to nurture not just players, but a vibrant community around the sport.

Looking toward the future, the siblings are already preparing for an even larger event this year. “We anticipate hosting between 48 and 64 countries, expanding our influence and bringing more people together,” their excitement is palpable. Such ambitions mirror the global potential of pickleball, a rising star in the sports world.

The Cabieses siblings have become torchbearers, illuminating a path through a sport they hold dear. Their efforts serve as a reminder of how sports can transcend borders, fostering unity while creating unforgettable memories. Each match played is more than just a game; it’s a testament to resilience, camaraderie, and the relentless pursuit of sharing joy through sport.
