Southwest Florida, happy hump day!
You can expect a slightly more pleasant afternoon than Tuesday. Most of us will be in 90s with some communities in the upper 90s.
Fred brought plenty of tropical moisture to our viewing areas. This will make it feel like the temperature is climbing into the 100s during peak warming.
Although temperatures are rising, we can expect to see slightly lower chances of rain than Tuesday. Around lunchtime, isolated storms may form. These storms will then disperse throughout the evening and weaken after sundown.
On Thursday and Friday, a pocket of dry air will blow into Southwest Florida. This will decrease our chances of getting rain.
If you are able to dodge thunderstorms, boaters will enjoy fantastic conditions.
Grace is now a category 1 hurricane and is forecasted to make a brief landfall in the Yucatán Peninsula. The warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico have helped the storm strengthen after it had become a tropical storm. Grace will make another landfall in Mexico on Saturday.
Per the 5 PM advisory, Tropical Storm Henri has winds at 70 MPH and moving to the west at 9 MPH. Henri will likely become a hurricane in the next few days. The track has moved slightly west to possibly affect New England in the early part of next week.
Over the next five day, there are no additional named storms. Ida will be the next name added to our 2021 naming roster.
