Two new Indian restaurants are coming to Naples this summer

Two new Indian restaurants plan to open in the Naples area this summer. The first will be Le Indya at 975 Pine Ridge Road in Northern Naples. Longtime regional restaurateur Suman “Sam” Chaniyil plans to serve authentic Indian cuisine for lunch and dinner in a building that houses Loving Hut and many other restaurants. Chaniyil already operates two restaurants in Lee County: India’s Grill in Fort Myers and Spice Club Indian Grill in San Carlos Park. While its existing restaurants will focus on cuisine from North India, its new restaurant due to open this month will feature South Indian cuisine, including many vegan and vegetarian options, Chaniyil said.

In the meantime, Digambars “Chef D” Sahu, co-founder of I Love Curry Food Truck, is expanding its local dining concept to include a stationary location on Weeks Avenue at 2740 Bayshore Drive in East Naples. Sahu is already fulfilling roadside pre-orders on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons from his food truck in the retail strip parking lot where his new restaurant opens in August at Gulf Gate South Plaza. The open kitchen of the new restaurant serves a mixture of traditional North and South Indian cuisine as well as dishes from his home in Mumbai on the west coast of India.
