Adele wants fans to listen to her album in order

Adele announces release date for much-anticipated new album

CNN — Adele wants listeners to hear her tracks in their listed order, and Spotify agrees.

Since the release of her fourth album titled “30,” the shuffle button is no longer an option.

“This was the only request I had in our ever changing industry!” Adele tweeted. “We don’t create albums with so much care and thought into our track listing for no reason. Our art tells a story and our stories should be listened to as we intended. Thank you Spotify for listening.”

Premium listeners can still shuffle individual tracks, but fans of Adele thanked her for the update and said they would never listen to an album on shuffle the first time around, CNN reported.

Many users became annoyed by this and criticized Adele for requesting the removal of the default shuffle option.
