FORT MYERS, Fla. — Dozens of people filled the streets in downtown Fort Myers Sunday to protest against the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade.
Even when the rain started to fall, they were still out there holding signs, speaking out for what they believe.
Kasey Jamison said she brought her sons with her today because she wants to lead by example.
She shared her story with us about her decision to get an abortion.
“When he was 5 months old I became pregnant again. And that man told me that he was not going to be a dad. That he was going to pay for that abortion, and I would never see him again,” said Jamison.
As a single mother, she said this was the best choice for her family.
Others support the Supreme Court’s decision.
“I would never tell someone to do something with their body but you can’t ignore a heartbeat or brain activity,” said Michael Tobiasen.
In Florida, it’s still legal to get an abortion before 24 weeks. Next week it is down to 15 weeks.
