Cape Coral opens bulk waste drop-off site for residents

Cape Coral suggests a rental fee

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The city of Cape Coral is partnering with Waste Pro to establish a bulk waste drop-off site for residents for one year.

The site will be part of a pilot program the city is establishing. After one year, officials will decide whether or not to open a permanent location.

The drop-off site is a free service being offered in addition to the residential bulk item collection already provided.

It will be located on the west side of the North Cape Government Complex at 1200 Kismet Parkway. The entrance for the site is off NW 14th Avenue, at the western portion of the complex.

The site will open on Tuesday, Jan. 11. Staff will be on site to assist residents if needed. It will operate Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The site is for residential use only, so commercial businesses will not be allowed to use the site. Proof of residency may be required to dispose of items, the city said.

Recycling and household chemical waste will not be accepted at the drop-off site.
