It was an unexpected sensation for “American Idol” judge Luke Bryan.

After Estero teen Casey Bishop sang “When She Loved Me” on Sunday’s show, Bryan said he experienced something rare from his judge’s seat.

“I don’t know if I’ve had chill bumps like that in four years of doing this show,” Bryan said, touching his arm seconds after Bishop’s performance. “It was truly remarkable to watch. I loved every second of it.”

“Idol’s” viewers must have felt the same way: They voted Sunday and put Bishop into the show’s Top 7 singers.

The singers all return to sing again Sunday, May 9, for a Mother’s Day-themed show.

Host Ryan Seacrest named each of the Top 7 singers one by one, and then motioned to them all together on the stage. “I now present your Top 7, America!” Seacrest said. “There they are!”

Three of the show’s 10 singers got sent home after Sunday’s live vote.

For Sunday’s performance, Bishop got coaching from actor/musician John Stamos in Orlando’s Disney World. He encouraged Bishop to take her song to a higher key.

“Casey was fascinating to me,” Stamos said about meeting her. “How sophisticated is she at 16? And then this voice comes out.”

The 10 contestants performed songs from Disney and PIXAR movies during Sunday’s “Disney Night” episode. They had traveled to Disney World last week, where they rehearsed, rode rides and — in Bishop’s case — met with her Estero family to ride some rides.

Bishop wore an elegant red dress as she performed “When She Loved Me,” a ballad from the Pixar movie “Toy Story 2.” She was accompanied by a pianist.

Afterward, the show’s three judges raved about her performance.

“I just believe you are a superstar in the making,” Bryan told her.

Katy Perry marveled at Bishop’s musical growth on the show. “You’ve been showing us so many different colors of who you are as an artist, who you can be, how you can sing, how you can deliver,” she said. “I mean, just a few weeks ago, you were a rock ‘n’ roll girl, and now you’re like sophisticated, elegant, like grace on stage.

“I love that you can do almost anything. Actually, you can do anything. You just have to believe!”

Lionel Richie talked about Bishop’s grace beyond her years. “It’s one of those things where we can talk to you and coach you about vocals and stuff,” he said, “but stage presence, poise and delivery is something you have to naturally have. And you demonstrated tonight, my dear.”
