Drive, Chip and Putt local qualifier set for Thursday in Estero

One of two Drive, Chip and Putt Championship local qualifiers will be Thursday at Stoneybrook Golf Club in Estero.

The top three boys and top three girls in the age divisions: 7-9, 10-11, 12-13 and 14-15 move on to subregionals. The second area qualifier is July 16 at Vineyards Country Club in Naples.

Bradley qualifies for U.S. Women’s Amateur: Naples’ Emma Bradley’s USGA calendar is filling up. After previously qualifying for the U.S. Girls Junior, Bradley added the U.S. Women’s Amateur on Tuesday, shooting a 74 at Port Huron Golf Club in Michigan.  Bradley tied for the third and final qualifying spot, then won a playoff over Sarah Thompson.

Bradley, a Seacrest student who has verbally committed to Ole Miss, also played in the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship earlier this year. The Women’s Amateur is Aug. 1-7.

AJGA Daniel Berger Championship: Naples’ Sydney Shrader tied for 12th at The Dye Preserve on June 23. Shrader shot 77-77-82.

Press Thornton Future Masters: Naples’ James Tureskis finished 25th in the 67th annual tournament in Dotha, Alabama. Tureskis shot 71-75-75/221 in the 13-14 Division.
