FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. – Fort Myers Beach is gearing up for its annual Fourth of July firework celebration.

According to officials with Fort Myers Beach, the show begins at 9 p.m. and is expected to last for 20 minutes. Traffic will be heavy as well as the demand for parking in the downtown, Times Square, and Pier areas.

The town does have several hundred public spaces and there are some paid commercial parking lots. Officials said paying for parking in town spaces is easy with the Passport Parking app.

Visitors and residents can also consider riding the Lee Tran Trolley that runs between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Anyone wanting to watch the fireworks can also see them from one of the town’s 26 beach accesses that are spread along Estero Boulevard toward the south end of the Island. Organizers said Mantanzas Pass Bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. to oncoming traffic.

Big Carlos Pass Bridge on the south end of Estero Island will remain open throughout the event.
