ZOLFO SPRINGS, Fla. — A Hardee County teen was bitten by an alligator Sunday afternoon.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), at around 2:30 p.m. officers responded to the scene near Gardner Boat Ramp in Zolfo Springs where a 13-year-old girl was bitten by an alligator.
The girl was quickly hospitalized for her injuries and she is in stable condition at this time, FWC said.
According to FWC, a contracted nuisance alligator trapper has been dispatched to the scene.
