Investigators determine Laramore Avenue shooting was accidental

UPDATE: PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Charlotte County detectives determined Sunday morning’s shooting on Laramore Avenue was an accidental firearm discharge by a juvenile.

The 21-year-old victim in the incident is expected to survive, according to Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

CCSO said the investigation remains ongoing.

ORIGINAL STORY: PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is investigating a shooting that occurred just before 9:30 a.m. in Port Charlotte Sunday morning.

Deputies are investigating the 22000 block of Laramore Avenue.

This is an active investigation.
