CAPE CORAL, Fla.– Residents on 17th Terrace in Cape Coral said Lee County Deputies, a dive team, and Cape Coral Police swarmed their neighborhood Wednesday.

“I was just coming home for lunch and saw a handful of sheriffs, probably 4 or 5 of them, Cape Coral cops, a couple of dive teams, they had everything cornered off there,” resident Zachary Shannon said.

Shannon said dive teams were searching in the canal that runs behind his home.

Neighbors told NBC2 that deputies were asking for surveillance video from last week.

Now, this community is left with a lot of questions.

“As a homeowner, you would like to know what’s going on in your neighborhood,” resident Ricky Eaton said.

We are working to confirm with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office to find out what they were searching for.
