LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A Lehigh Acres mother and daughter were killed in an I-95 crash in Georgia.

Georgia State Patrol said Teresa Garcia Flores, 32, and her daughter Irma Hernandez Garcia, 16, were thrown from their SUV during the crash. Six other people who were in the car were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The tire blew out on the SUV while it was heading north on I-95, causing the driver to lose control, crash investigators said. The SUV slammed into the median and flipped.

The mother and daughter didn’t appear to be wearing seatbelts and were thrown from the SUV, Georgia troopers said. GSP does believe it was two families in the SUV traveling together. They had just gotten back on I-95 after stopping for food and gas.
