MARCO ISLAND, Fla. — An officer with the Marco Island Police Department received an award for capturing a python.

On Friday, November 15, officers with the MIPD responded to a python on a boat docked at the Rose Marina.

Officer Prigge was able to capture the slithery creature and released it to a local wildlife handler. 

The officer received the ‘Caught in the Act’ award for his actions that day.
