More than $137 million in unclaimed property held in SWFL

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Southwest Florida currently holds more than $137 million in unclaimed property, according to Florida’s Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis.

Florida residents are encouraged to see if they have unclaimed property under their name to claim any potential cash available as the holiday season begins.

Currently, Florida has $2.5 billion in unclaimed property, Patronis said.

  • Lee County $71.85 million
  • Charlotte County $18.85 million
  • Collier County $39.78 million
  • DeSoto County $2.45 million
  • Glades County $688,800
