ARCADIA, Fla. – Nine people were injured in a crash on State Road 31 near County Road 763 in Arcadia overnight Wednesday, authorities said.

A 42-year-old Michigan man driving a van north on State Road 31 crossed over the center line near the intersection and hit another driver head-on around midnight, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash caused the other driver, described as a 37-year-old Arcadia man, to run off the road and overturn, troopers said.

The Michigan man was driving with seven passengers including three children. Troopers said all the passengers in the van received minor to serious injuries.

Both drivers were seriously injured in the crash.
