LEE COUNTY, Fla.– Lee County deputies responded to reports of a shooting early Thursday morning in North Fort Myers.

It happened around 5 AM.

Residents who live on Winsome Road said it was a drive-by shooting.

“I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom and I heard a bang-bang,” said North Fort Myers resident Jay Galyon.

Seconds after that, he heard several more shots fired.

Another resident, Leo Marrero, said he woke up to find that a bullet had for through this window.

“I don’t feel safe for me and my kids,” he said. “It’s not okay, that people think to do this. It’s not okay.”

NBC2 crews on scene observed what appeared to be several other gunshots in two cars at the home next door to Marrero’s.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said no one filed a report.
