One flown to hospital after Immokalee crash

IMMOKALEE, Fla. – One person was flown to the hospital after a crash on State Road 29 near Oil Well Road in Immokalee Sunday afternoon.

The crash that happened between a sedan and an SUV around 3:30 p.m. left someone with serious injuries and a car heavily damaged, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

One person was taken by helicopter to Lee Memorial Hospital. Another was taken to North Collier Hospital with injuries, troopers said.

The intersection was shutdown while crews investigated the crash Sunday. It has since reopened.
