The City of Sanibel opened limited parking on its beaches on February 4th. Visitors should expect to find hurricane debris and should wear shoes and swim at their own risk due to the possibility of bacteria and red tide. There are two locations available for general parking with $5 per hour fees. A City of Sanibel beach parking permit can be found online and parking staff will be available to help visitors use the new mobile pay system. Visitors without a permit or who park without paying may receive a $150 fine. A map detailing the parking that’s currently available can be found online, as well as additional details about what to expect on Sanibel beaches.
