FORT MYERS, Fla. — Crews made quick work of a kitchen fire in the Palm Villas Apartment complex Tuesday morning.

The South Trail Fire Department responded to the fire on Beacon Boulevard just before 8 a.m.

The public information officer for the district said it was a kitchen fire.

No one was hurt, but this is a good reminder to be careful in the kitchen during the holidays, Thanksgiving especially.

Fire experts suggest using heavy duty oven mitts, and always having a fire extinguisher at the ready.
