Franklin Templeton Shootout

Summer Series

Info: Registration is open. The six-tourney series is for two-person teams that compete in six holes of alternate shot, six holes of better ball and six holes of scramble in a format modeled after the PGA Tour’s Franklin Templeton Shootout that’s played at Tiburon Golf Club at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort. Remaining events — The Rookery, June 11, 9 a.m. shotgun; Worthington, July 23, 8:15 a.m. shotgun; Raptor Bay, Aug. 20, 9 a.m. shotgun; Hammock Bay, Sept. 17, 9 a.m. shotgun; Tiburon (Black), Oct. 1, 12:45 p.m. shotgun.

Impact Zone Golf Juniors

LPGA Girls Golf

Info: The LPGA Girls Golf summer program schedule has been released for high school and middle school girls. Golfers will have instruction and play nine hole events on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The dates and locations are: Worthington — June 18; Spring Run — June 4, 11; Estero CC — June 25; Copperleaf — July 9; Quail Creek — July 16; The Strand — July 23; Vasari — July 30; Esplanade — Aug. 6; West Bay — Aug. 13; Wildcat Run — Aug. 20, 27. The program also released its schedule for elementary (starting at age 7) and novice middle school girls. Instruction and play will be at Worthington Country Club on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The dates are June 8, 15, 22 and 29, July 6, 13, 20 and 27 and Aug. 3.

Junior Golf Performance Academy

Info: At Quail Creek Country Club. Academy director Spencer Graham III is a Top 50 U.S. Kids Golf instructor. JGPA annual development: Weekly 60-minute group sessions, $120/month; Weekly 90-minute group sessions, $180/month; Four 120-minute Elite player group sessions, $220. Shadow Wood Academy Junior Camp

Info: Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 7 through June 24 from 10 a.m. to noon. The cost is $199 for the three-week session, or a daily fee is $50. The clinic features PGA, TPI & US Kids Certified Instructors.

SW Florida Junior Golf Association

Info: Starting its 42nd tournament season for ages 8-18. The SWFJGA is a 501(c)(3) charity. The program runs from June 13 to Aug. 1, and applications are being accepted online at Eight local golf courses with conditions similar to those on which middle and high school golf teams will compete are slated. Nine-and 18-hole weekly tournaments are flighted based on age and skill level. Awards are made to top players in each flight after each tournament.



Alico Family Golf 9-Hole Short Course League

Info: The two-person teams with a Stableford points format will run for eight weeks each Wednesday through June 22. Overall winning team will be decided based on the best six scores out of eight. Registration is $50 per team entry, with a $12 weekly entry fee.

n Dennis Clark Lessons: Clark, a PGA Master Professional and director of the Dennis Clark Golf Academy at the Marriott Marco Island Resort and Spa, works with developing juniors interested in furthering their careers to the collegiate level.
