The six-tourney series is for two-person teams that compete in six holes of alternate shot, six holes of better ball and six holes of scramble in a format modeled after the PGA Tour’s Franklin Templeton Shootout that’s played at Tiburon Golf Club at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort. LPGA Girls Golf

Info: The LPGA Girls Golf summer program schedule has been released for high school and middle school girls. Golfers will have instruction and play nine hole events on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The dates and locations are: Worthington — June 18; Spring Run — June 4, 11; Estero CC — June 25; Copperleaf — July 9; Quail Creek — July 16; The Strand — July 23; Vasari — July 30; Esplanade — Aug. 6; West Bay — Aug. 13; Wildcat Run — Aug. 20, 27. The program also released its schedule for elementary (starting at age 7) and novice middle school girls. Instruction and play will be at Worthington Country Club on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The dates are June 8, 15, 22 and 29, July 6, 13, 20 and 27 and Aug. 3.

SW Florida Junior Golf Association

Info: Starting its 42nd tournament season for ages 8-18. The SWFJGA is a 501(c)(3) charity. The program runs from June 13 to Aug. 1, and applications are being accepted online at SWFJGA.org. Eight local golf courses with conditions similar to those on which middle and high school golf teams will compete are slated. Nine-and 18-hole weekly tournaments are flighted based on age and skill level. Awards are made to top players in each flight after each tournament.
