Sprouts Farmers Market is bringing a new grocery store to San Jose this spring, offering Bay Area residents more options for organic and natural foods. The new store, located at 375 N. Capitol Ave., is set to open in the second quarter of 2023.
Sprouts is a Phoenix-based grocery chain that specializes in fresh, organic, and natural foods. The store is known for its wide selection of fruits, vegetables, and other health-conscious items. Sprouts also offers a variety of prepared foods, including salads, sandwiches, and meal kits.
The new San Jose store will be Sprouts’ fifth in the city, and its 136th in California. The chain also has more than a dozen stores in the Bay Area, including locations in San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley.
Sprouts is not the only grocery store opening in the Bay Area this year. San Jose recently welcomed a second location of Dai Thanh Supermarket, a popular Vietnamese grocery store in the South Bay. Additionally, Sprouts plans to begin construction on a new store in Pittsburg this spring, with an opening projected for late 2024.
The chain also plans to open a few other California stores in the coming months in Norwalk, Lancaster, and Merced. Meanwhile, Sprouts closed two Bay Area stores last year, in Fremont and Mountain View.
